Ovidiu Brandenburg-Kulmbach as Alfred Ill: “Alfred Ill is a complex character. If you read the play, you can see that sometimes he is being incredibly confident when he thinks he has Claire "in the sack," then he starts being paranoid because he realizes that he might have people wanting to kill him. And just the juxtaposition of his different characters I find it quite amazing.”
Stephanie Kates as Claire Zachanassian: “I'm interpreting her as a narcissistic, bitter, old woman, but with some emotional vulnerabilities and weaknesses that happened in her past that hold her back. It's very difficult to figure out where the balance is; so where's her weakness coming through, when is she in a power position, and when is she feeling at her most evil.”
Daniel von Wiche as The Teacher: “The Teacher to me is a fascinating character, because he's the only real humanist element in the play. I find the Teacher's role to be extremely important to show how academics and intellectuals are not somehow immune from the evils of greed.”
Tyler Reeves as The Mayor: “I speak his role with a heavy Swiss accent, which makes it a bit more comedic and adds a different touch. His role of power gets lost through that but also in terms of him not really acting up as a mayor, as a person of authority.”
Devon Harlos as The Policeman: “He's a very harsh, insensitive character, which is pretty much the opposite of my real personality. I'm excited to get out of my comfort zone and try something new.”
